Tchoukball ( pronounced as Chuke-ball ) was invented in the 1970s by Swiss biologist Dr.Hermann Brandt who was intent on developing a game that reduced the rate of sporting injuries. He believed that ' the object of all physical activities is not to make champions, but make a contribution to building a harmonious society. The result is a non-contact sport that allows equal participation from all players. Furthermore, all ages can come together and play!
It all started about five years ago when I was in secondary four, my school was the first to introduce Tchoukball as a CCA in Singapore. It got me interested to pick up this new sport, and after attending countless trainings I was lucky enough to get selected into the school Tchoukball team and also representing Singapore for overseas competition. Countries like Taiwan, HongKong, Malaysia, Italy participated too, and making new friends from different parts of the world certainly was the greatest experience I ever had.
What makes me put in extra effort in Tchoukball was not because of it's uniqueness of the game, but what I have experienced during the game. All the players are honest, if they have committed a fault during the game when which the referee fails to see it, they will point it out to the referee even if the other team is leading. I can say that this kind of event would be least likely to happen in any other sports. Great sportsmanship is displayed not only during the game, but after too. At the end of the day we get to know one another, making new friends.
Until now, I am still playing and a coach too. In the future, I am passionate to teach/introduce Tchoukball to other countries around the world, which the Tchoukball associations are doing well right now. I believe that this will help to remind people the main objective of sport, and to make a world a better place to live in even if the change is little.
One excellent tip in order to become a better player in Tchoukball is- Keep running. Running helps to improve your stamina and muscles that will boost your ability to jump and stay in the air longer, which is very helpful in the game of Tchoukball.
Well, it's an amazing sport to me and I would like to recommend it to all of you. It had taught me many valuable lessons through out these years and I've always enjoyed the game. If you don't believe it, try it! ( Playing at a higher level ! )

The great sportsmanship, honesty which I was talking about can be seen @1:00 of the video, the shot from the taiwanese touched the opponent's hand before it landed outside of the playing zone, the Italy player immediately pointed that out to the referee as the referee wasn't sure of the situation. ( If the ball landed outside the playing zone straight after it rebounded from the frame/net, it would have been a POINT GIVEN to the opponent team. )
